Important News For 2017 & Beyond!

There is so much change that is going on in our world today. The nations seem to be groaning and being stretched in every direction. Our nation is building for the future and fighting off the plague of liberalism that has no accountability to God whatsoever. Yet in all of this, the Kingdom of heaven is expanding upon the earth.

The history of International Apostolic Ministries is not as complicated as some might think. We began in the midst of revival in the mid-nineties while most of us were laughing uncontrollably and finding ourselves intoxicated with the love of the Father in some very radical ways. Those are some sweet memories. From those revival times when being so overcome with the Spirit of the Lord, a number of us united under the Lord’s banner of His new wine. We were filled over and over with the joy that passed all of our former understanding.

We are not ashamed of our roots in the new wine revival, and I think that most of us long to see times of refreshing like that again and again.

From those humble beginnings, we wanted to formulate an apostolic family that was focused on revealing the Kingdom of God upon the earth and making the name of Jesus famous wherever He was being forgotten or unknown.

Not much has changed in our hearts, and we are still longing to have the life-changing joy of the Kingdom of heaven manifesting in our lives and know that we have a family with whom to identify.

We understand the strength of apostolic alignment, but we also know that this alignment must come without controls and manipulations of over-bearing apostleship. Thus, we gather apostles who are fathers-in-the-faith and have gentle passions to help lead the family into the glories of their destinies together.

For awhile we were having “Equipping Gatherings” instead of the original “Convenings” that were our flagship meetings. We called our together times Convenings because we thought that it had the connotation of togetherness, kind of like a family reunion.

Well, if there was ever a time when we need family it is today. The words of the apostle Paul are timeless and seem to be more applicable to us today than ever.

“For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me. For this reason, I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.”
1 Corinthians 4:15-17 (NKJV)

This letter to the ecclesia in Corinth speaks of the apostle’s gentle and loving passion for the spiritual family that has the haven of fathering leadership.

When we talk of spiritual family, we speak the language of love. God’s love.

Many apostolic networks have been founded upon someone’s ministry revelation where the apostle gathers people to help bring about his/her revelatory teaching or power gift ministry to the world. That is not how we founded IAM, and that is not who we are. We have always said that we come along side our family and friends to help them do what the Lord Jesus Christ has anointed them to accomplish. One might say that the destiny of IAM is to help others fulfill their destinies.

Recently, I had a life threatening trauma that was another shock to our I.A.M. family. I say another shock meaning that we have had some pretty severe losses in the last few years. Of our leadership, we lost James Berkley, Colleen Sherman, Myra Wilson and Patrick Holloran and it seemed that none of them had lived out their time with us as a spiritual family.

While my body was in shock and I could feel the closeness of leaving this planet, I feared not death but the added hurt that my death would cause so many people that I love and cherish. Another loss could have been devastating to the tender hearts of this spiritual family.

Although still in recovery, I believe and have been told by the medical experts that I’m going to come out of this with even more energy and live a long healthy life.

During this ordeal, the Spirit of the Lord interjected new desires into me to build up and strengthen the I.A.M. family. You will be seeing some changes through the rest of this year and beyond that will reflect those things that the sweetness of the Holy Spirit has deposited into my heart and life.

As you know, August 23, 24 & 25, we will be having an IAM Family Convening in Valatie, New York, (Albany). It will be the first of a new wave of family reunions for us, and I pray that everyone in the IAM Family will begin to prepare to meet with us in the years to come.

We are also rebuilding our website to convey the strengths of us as an apostolic family of believers. We have been working on an extraordinary blog for communications from the apostolic fathers and others of the IAM Family to the entire network. We will be calling it “Horizons.”

I.A.M. Horizons is a place for you to keep up with a multitude of encouraging principles to build and strengthen your Christ-filled life.

Behold! Your Horizons! Whether it’s a sunrise or a sunset or an expansive midday view, horizons give to us reflection on the past the present and the future. Behold where we are. Behold how far we’ve come. Behold where we will be going. International Apostolic Ministries introduces to you Horizons a blog with words of life.

At the August Convening we will have some unique and powerful daytime workshops and some much needed dialogue about the future and the hope that we have. I believe that we will come forth from this Convening with renewed vision and practical applications.

Please know receive my sincere gratitude for your prayers and hearts of faith that have seen me through. Please keep us in your heart and watch for the changes that are coming!

I thank the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the manifestation of the Father’s love for each of you.
