Your Personal Road To Emmaus Invitation
So you are out for a walk with your good friend. While you are both engaged in a very intense discussion, a stranger appears next to you, asking to join in on your conversation. He seemed so genuinely interested that neither of you have any problem quickly bringing Him up to snuff with all you were discussing.
|
Then right amid your dialogue, He stops, raises His hands, and shakes His head as He sighfully declares your names over and over again. Then, as both of you wonder how He knows your name, He begins talking to you about you, each of you.
|
His words take you back and unfold the story of you long before you were born. As He does this, the deepest part of you begins to churn with a "burning "that gets increasingly intense with every word that comes out of His mouth.
|
As He describes your life after you were born, every fiber of your being feels like it's about to explode. Tears are flowing like rivers as your hearts are overwhelmed with a flood of beyond-word emotions. Everything is fast-forwarding right before you as every detail of your life. Every good, bad or indifferent event you both experienced is filled with an "exceedingly abundantly beyond" joy-filled emotion. A thousand "wow's" couldn't even come close to how you are feeling.

When you arrive home, you both insist that He join you for lunch. As your meal begins, He takes bread in His hands in the Hebrew tradition and says, "Blessed are You, Master of the Universe Who gave our fathers the manna each day in the wilderness and Who now gives unto us the Bread of Life - the Bread of His Kingdom."

Suddenly the revelation of who He is explodes in both of you, and He vanishes out of sight. You both are left with this forever life-changing knowing of just how beyond precious and cherished and loved you are to the Father of all creation.

So what if this was not just a "what if"?
|
And what if "Do this OFTEN in remembrance of Me" really means He passionately desires to take you NOW, this day, on yet another life-changing "road to Emmaus" walk?
|
|
And the only requirement of you is to lift your coffee and toast (or cracker and juice) or simply hold up your hands and declare a confident expecting "yes."
|
A thousand "Wows" cannot even come close to where He wants to take you!
|

|
"Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.
And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while
He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem,
and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together,
saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
And they told about the things that had happened on the road,

and how He was revealed to them in the breaking of bread."
Luke 24:31-35
